Jeff Montgomery grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and attended college at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. After college, Montgomery moved to Athens, Georgia in the 1980s to take advantage of the local music scene. In this interview, Montgomery talks about the start of AthFest, The Five Ring Circus CD, and his relationship with Athens bands.
