Description

Chaffin remembers growing up in Toccoa and details his undergraduate experiences at UGA in the late 1930s, particularly the campus buildings, campus politics between fraternity members and independents, campus traditions like freshman hazing and homecoming, and memorable faculty members. He discusses attending UGA law school, serving in naval intelligence in the Pacific during World War II, and serving in the Korean War. He talks about working as a professor of law at the University of Alabama then at the University of Georgia for about fifty years.
