Interview with Dr. Frankie Hill, August 4, 2023

Dr. Frankie Hill was born in 1950, and was raised in Florida alongside a large family. In this interview, Hill tells her story, beginning from entering first grade at an early age to serving in administrative positions in the Clarke County School District, focusing on education throughout. Throughout the interview she speaks passionately about the roles her own teachers had in her development, talks about teaching her brothers and sisters from a young age, and explains how she prioritized her own children’s education. She also remembers her youth in Central Florida, recalls her time at Florida A&M University and meeting her husband, and details her experiences working in the Clarke County School District. In the process she notes how different the school district is now as compared to when she first started at Cedar Shoals High School, and explains many of the issues the school district deals with today.
